AO TAGMET was established in 1896.
AO TAGMET manufactures almost all types of steel pipes, including high-strength pipes with special properties, corrosion-resistant pipes, pipes with leak-proof threaded connections, drill pipes with welded tool joints, casing pipes with couplings, well servicing pipes, steel welded round and shaped pipes, water and gas pipes, and galvanized pipes.
In 2008, AO TAGMET put into operation Russia’s first pipe rolling line with continuous mill PQF that produces seamless OCTG pipes using the latest technologies.
In 2013, an electric arc furnace (by SMS Demag, Germany) was put into commercial operation instead of obsolete open-hearth furnaces. Steelmaking facilities of Taganrog Metallurgical Works satisfy fully needs of the company in steel billets as well as offer continuous cast billets to other customers.
In 2014, a blanking machine USC 21/290 and twin-spindle vertical coupling threading machines by EMAG (Germany) were installed in the coupling area, which resulted in increase of production rates of couplings for casing pipes with Premium threaded connections.
In 2016, Machines EMAG USC 21/290 by EMAG (Germany) were installed in the line no. 4 “Premium casing”, which resulted in increase of production rates of casing pipes with Premium threaded connections and mastering production of pipes with threaded connection TMK UP CENTRUM.
Pipes are manufactured in accordance with API, DIN, ASTM standards as well as Russian regional and national standards and technical specifications. TAGMET products are certified in the Voluntary Certification System INTERGAZCERT. Company Quality Management System is certified to international standards ISO 9001, STO Gazprom 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 50001 as well as in the Voluntary Certification System INTERGAZCERT. Company products are supplied both to Russian and international customers.
A chemical effluent treatment plant was opened in 2017. This environmental project was included to the plan of the Government of the Russian Federation intended for the Year of Ecology. It was implemented in accordance with a quadripartite agreement on cooperation, which was made between the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation, Federal Supervisory Natural Resources Management Service, Government of the Rostov Region, and Pipe Metallurgical Company.
At present, TAGMET is one of the most high-technology pipe plants in the world.
